Ms Joey

With more than 15 years of teaching experience, Ms Joey specialises in Primary Math. She has been a full time private tutor since her university days and taught Primary Math (specialising in upper primary level) in an established math specialised tuition centre for 10 years. While she has prior experience with online teaching during COVID period as well as 1-1 private zoom lessons, she also conducts online classes for China-based international students, teaching them Olympiad Math syllabus through an online learning platform.

Her graduated students have shown improved results like from AL5/6 to AL1/2 or have shown improved grade levels under her teaching.

As a passionate educator, she aims to create a positive learning environment for her students while assisting them to build strong foundations in Math and eventually achieve their desired goals. Her teaching approach is to make Math accessible and less intimidating by breaking down complex problems into manageable steps through identifying key words and applying effective strategies to tackle various types of Math questions with ease. She also does her best to address each student’s individual areas of weakness through targeted practices to reinforce understanding and build confidence.
